Itanagar, Sep 4: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt. General K.T. Parnaik (Retd.), has extended warm greetings to the people of the State, and in particular, to the esteemed members of the teaching fraternity, on the joyous occasion of Teachers’ Day, which commemorates the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. He expressed hope that the Teachers’ Day would remind all of the timeless values of our great Gurukul tradition and inspire us all to work with dedication for the vision of a strong, inclusive, and developed India..
The Governor, in his message, said that Dr. Radhakrishnan, one of India’s most illustrious sons and former President, was a great philosopher, humanist, and above all, a revered teacher. Whether serving as an academic, an ambassador, Vice President, or President, he remained a teacher at heart. His humility, wisdom, discipline, and warmth left an indelible mark on generations of students, who remember him with gratitude and admiration. He personified the noble ideals of the teaching profession, knowledge with humility, discipline with compassion, and authority with approachability, he said.
The Governor, in his message, said that teachers, by nurturing young minds, carry the extraordinary responsibility of shaping not just individual futures but the future of the nation itself. In the march towards Viksit Bharat @ 2047, the role of teachers becomes even more critical. An ideal citizen of tomorrow’s India must be educated, disciplined, and motivated, values that teachers are uniquely placed to instill. By guiding students with wisdom, values, and a spirit of service, teachers lay the foundation for a united, progressive, and vibrant Bharat, he said.
On this occasion, I urge all teachers to draw inspiration from Dr. Radhakrishnan’s life and teachings, to uphold the highest standards of knowledge and integrity, and to continue shaping generations of responsible and enlightened citizens, Parnaik exhorted in his message.
