Itanagar, Feb 14: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt. General K.T. Parnaik (Retd.), has extended sincere greetings to the people of the State of Arunachal Pradesh, particularly to Tawran (Digaru) and Kaman (Miju) Mishmi brethren on the auspicious occasion of the Tamla Du Festival. He wished that the revered festival usher in happiness, harmony, and prosperity for all, and strengthen the bonds of unity within the community.
In his message, the Governor said that Tamla Du is a profound celebration of faith, culture, and reverence for nature, bringing community members together to uphold their age-old traditions and rich cultural heritage. During this festival, the Mishmi people offer prayers to Almighty Lord Jabmalo and to the forces of nature, seeking protection from natural calamities, good health for families and livestock, and abundance in newly sown crops. Rooted in inherited traditional wisdom, the festival reflects a deep understanding of the symbiotic relationship between humanity and nature, and a collective resolve to protect and preserve the environment, he said.
On this auspicious occasion, I pray that Lord Jabmalo bestows His choicest blessings upon all and brings peace, well-being, and prosperity to the people of Arunachal Pradesh, the Governor said in his message.
