Itanagar, Apr 10: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt. General K.T. Parnaik (Retd.), has greeted the people of the State, especially the Tutsa community, on the festive occasion of Pongtu. He expressed hope that the celebration would usher in peace, happiness, and prosperity for all.
In his message, the Governor said that Pongtu, the vibrant agricultural festival of the Tutsa tribe in Changlang and Tirap districts, is a time of joy and gratitude. Celebrated before the onset of the rainy season, it marks the completion of the millet harvest and the welcoming of a New Year with renewed hopes and aspirations. This sacred occasion is also an opportunity to seek divine blessings for a bountiful harvest and protection against natural and unforeseen calamities, he said.
With deep reverence, I join my Tutsa brethren in offering prayers to the Supreme God, Rangkathok, for his choicest blessings upon all, the Governor said in his message.
