ITANAGAR, Nov 14: The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Brig. (Dr.) B. D. Mishra (Retd.) has extended his warm greetings to the people of the State on the festive occasion of Nyetrii-Dow Festival. He expressed his hope that the festival of the Hrusso tribe will usher-in peace, harmony and prosperity for all.
In his message, the Governor said that the genesis of all festivals is closely connected with people’s belief, faith, livelihood and sustenance. The celebration of festivals, therefore, promotes the concerned tribe's vibrant and rich culture and tradition and helps in preserving and passing it on to the posterity. Our State is composed of agrarian folds. Accordingly, our festivals, from time immemorial, have been connected with agriculture. We, thus, celebrate festivals for propitiating Gods for their benevolence for bumper harvest and protection of crops against wild creatures and natural calamities.
Celebrating the age-old festivals helps the younger generation to learn and understand the traditions and enables them to proudly pass it on to their descendents. I am sure the members of the Hrusso Community shall enthusiastically participate in the Nyetrii-Dow festival and make it attractive and enjoyable, he said.
On this festive occasion, I join my Hrusso brothers and sisters in offering prayers to Almighty God for tranquillity and socio-economic wellbeing of our people, the Governor said in his message.
