Itanagar, Nov 14: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt. General K.T. Parnaik (Retd.), has extended warm greetings to the people of the State and to the tribal brethren across the nation on the occasion of Janjatiya Gaurav Divas, which is celebrated on the birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda. He hopes that the day will continue to encourage all to stand united against injustice, corruption, and every form of exploitation.
In his message, the Governor said that Birsa Munda was a fearless freedom fighter, a revered spiritual guide and a legendary hero of the Munda community from the Chota Nagpur Plateau. He dedicated his life to protecting the rights of tribal people and safeguarding their faith, culture, and traditions. His call to return to one’s roots and uphold indigenous values continues to inspire tribal societies across India, the Governor said.
Parnaik said that Janjatiya Gaurav Divas honours the courage and sacrifices of our tribal freedom fighters and reminds the younger generation of their invaluable contributions. It is also an occasion to recognize the role of tribal communities in preserving our rich cultural heritage and to highlight the welfare initiatives undertaken by the Union and State Governments in areas such as education, health, livelihood, infrastructure, and skill development. I am confident that this day will inspire renewed commitment and meaningful action for the progress and well-being of our tribal communities, he said.
On this occasion, I join the people of Arunachal Pradesh in paying a heartfelt tribute to Bhagwan Birsa Munda and to all tribal freedom fighters who gave their lives for the sovereignty and freedom of our nation, the Governor said in his message.
