Itanagar, Nov 24: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt. General K.T. Parnaik (Retd.), has extended greetings to the people of the State and to Nocte brethren in particular on the joyous occasion of Chalo Loku. He wished that the cherished festival would continue to spread the spirit of peace, harmony, and brotherhood across our State.
In his message, the Governor said that the traditional tribal festivals hold deep meaning in the social and spiritual lives of our communities. They allow us to live our culture in everyday practice, nurture respect for elders and the environment, and reinforce enduring values. Festivals also preserve our rituals and traditions, promote local arts, crafts, and skills, and create spaces for social cohesion and unity among all communities, he said. The Governor further said that in Arunachal Pradesh, the unique culture and traditions of each tribe embody our strength in diversity. It is our responsibility to safeguard this heritage in its purest form and pass it on to our children. At a time of rapid change, active participation by every individual and every family in these celebrations is essential for fostering community harmony and mutual understanding, he said.
On this auspicious day, I join my Nocte brothers and sisters in offering prayers to Almighty Rang for the cultural and economic well-being of all, the Governor said in his message.
