ITANAGAR, Jul 25: Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein called on the Governor Lt. General KT Parnaik, (Retd.) at Raj Bhavan, Itanagar today. They discussed about hydropower, investments and e-governance.
The Deputy Chief Minister briefed the Governor about the recent initiative of the State Government in harnessing the hydropower potential of the State. He informed that the state government has identified four central public sector undertakings (CPSUs) to take over large hydropower projects which were making unsatisfactory progress under private developers. The transfer process has been drafted after thorough consultation with various stakeholders, including the Government of India (GOI).
The Governor complimented Mein, who is the minister for Hydropower for the initiative and expressed his hope for successful implementation of the hydropower projects in the State. He also shared his observation in enhancing the power scenario of the State.
The Governor also discussed regarding e-governance with the Deputy Chief Minister, who is also the Minister in-charge for economics and statistics. He called for automation of all data at District, Circle and Village levels to facilitate proper planning and execution of developmental projects and programmes.
