ITANAGAR, Apr 15: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt. General K.T. Parnaik (Retd.) has conveyed warm greetings to the people of the State on the occasion of the Longte Festival. He expressed hope that the sanctity of the traditions of the Nyishi community will go a long way in preserving the cultural diversity of Arunachal Pradesh.
In his message, the Governor said that the Longte Festival emphasizes the wellness of human beings and the fertility and multiplication of animals and domestic livestock in the days ahead. It is also observed for the invocation of benevolent spirits for peace, richness and progress of mankind. Longte was and is organized, consciously and deliberately to uphold the age-old noble customs and traditions of the community, he said.
May this festival of our Nyishi brethren usher in harmony and prosperity for all, the Governor said.
