ITANAGAR, Jul 4: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt. General K.T. Parnaik (Retd.) has conveyed heartiest festival greetings to the people of the State and the Apatani community in particular, on the festive occasion of Dree Festival. He expressed hope that the festivity will usher-in good harvest, peace, prosperity and happiness for all.
In his message, the Governor said that the Dree festival is the cultural identity of the Apatani Tribe, which they have proudly and zealously preserved since time immemorial. Celebration of the indigenous festivals helps the preservation, development and transition of the ancestral values and ethnic identity to future generations. Continued observance of these festivals is closely connected with the beliefs, rites, social acceptances and peace promoting practices. It, therefore, devolves on us, the people of the State, to stay informed and involved in protecting our culture and heritage through these festive celebrations, he said.
May the warmth and splendour of Dree spirit invoke the choicest blessings of Almighty Danyi Piillo for the well being of all mankind, the Governor wished in his message.
