Itanagar, Aug 11: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig (Retd) Dr BD Mishra and chief minister Pema Khandu have conveyed warm greetings and good wishes to the people on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.
Mishra expressed hope that this tradition of celebrating the sacred relationship of brother and sister will further reinforce the warm endearment amongst siblings and will spread love, amity and peace in society.
In his message, the Governor said that Raksha Bandhan signifies the 'bond of protection – protection of the sisters by the brothers and in wider context protection of the womenfolk by the men with brotherly feelings. Raksha Bandhan also symbolizes affection and mutual trust and by extension, it ushers in emotional integration, empathy, and cooperation amongst the people, he said.

Chief Minister Khandu in a tweet said “Heartiest greetings and congratulations to all of you on Raksha Bandhan, a symbol of mutual love of siblings."
