ITANAGAR, Feb 26: Governor PB Acharya and Chief Minister Pema Khandu have conveyed warm greetings to the people of the State and to the Buddhist community in particular on the joyous occasion of Losar.
The Governor expressed hope that the Buddhist New Year festival will herald a year of peace, happiness and development in the State and North Eastern region.
The Governor called upon the people of the State to rise above narrow domestic walls and work for harmony, growth and progress of Arunachal Pradesh.
Chief Minister Pema Khandu hoped that the Buddhist New Year festival would bring peace, progress and prosperity for the State and its people.
He hoped that the festival would teach and explain the traditional religion and culture, and the ethical customs associated with Losar to the younger generation of Buddhist community to preserve and promote the tradition for posterity.
The Chief Minister further expressed hope that Losar – a festival with rich rituals and celebrations – would spread the message of human compassion and tolerance to each and every corner of the state.
