ITANAGAR, Dec 24: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig. (Dr.) B. D. Mishra (Retd.) and  Chief Minister Pema Khandu have greeted the people on the joyous occasion of Christmas.
In his message, the Governor said that the auspicious occasion of Christmas inspires all to live with compassion, empathy and humanism. The true spirit of Christmas reflects dedication for helping those in need, for giving hope to those in despair and for security to those who have been uprooted. The joy of the Christmas festival renews our commitment to work together in harmony and for a better future for all. I am sure that the occasion will instill the spirit of brotherhood in every individual and community, he said.
CM Khandu in a message this evening said Christmas is the best time to express gratitude for the contributions made by the Churches and Christian organizations in the growth of education and health care across the region.
He also hailed Christmas as one of the most secular festivals of the country, which is celebrated by all with the same gusto.
“Christmas is a festival that strengthens the bond of brotherhood that we all share irrespective of our beliefs. May this Christmas unfold another new chapter in communal harmony, brotherhood and peace and prosperity of our beloved Arunachal Pradesh. Merry Christmas to all!” Khandu added.
The Chief Minister also wished the people on the occasion of Good Governance day, celebrated to commemorate the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Late Atal Bihari Vajpayee on December 25 every year.
“Inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Digital India program, we have been running over a dozen IT projects besides 18 e-services. 210 common service centres (CSC) were made operational. Our Single Window Clearance Portal (EoDB Portal) is being widely appreciated by people. The Central Inspection System (CIS) portal is also live. Women’s representation in Panchayati Raj institutions has been impressive at nearly 50 per cent,” he added.
Governor Mishra (Retd.) in his message, said that good governance is the self actualisation of the government of the Day for providing a fair, transparent and accountable administration in the State. This also calls upon every public servant to be aware of and committed to his or her duties and responsibilities in the service of the people, he said.
The Governor said that today, the apex national leadership in the processes of governance is moving with the spirit of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas aur Sabka Prayas’. It aims at providing an effective, people-friendly, open and responsible administration to the Nation. In the gamut of the same spirit, Arunachal Pradesh State Government is implementing the laudable programme of ‘Seva Aap Ke Dwar’, which is a ‘movement’ and an initiative to promote good governance by taking the administration to the doorstep of the citizens. This initiative aims at letting the people have the best benefit of the developmental programmes and policies of the State. This growth and progress oriented action of our State Government is key to our onward march, he said.

On this occasion, I join my beloved people of Arunachal Pradesh in paying  tribute to the great nation builder, Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji and rededicate ourselves to his ideals of good governance, the Governor said in his message.
