ITANAGAR, May 17:Governor BD Mishra and Chief Minister Pema Khandu have congratulated Muri Linggi on becoming the third woman from the state to summit Mount Everest – the highest mountain peak in the world on May 14 last.

Congratulating Linggi, the Governor said that people of Arunachal Pradesh are proud of her. 

‘You have proved that our Arunachali daughters are tough, courageous, adventurous, meritorious and better than any other.  Your achievement has made us proud and you have set an example for your Arunachali sisters to emulate,’ the Governor said in his message.

Chief Minister Pema Khandu in his message said,

“If you are determined on fulfilling your passion and dream to achieve great - the circumstances or the age doesn't matter. 40-year-old mother of four girls, Muri Linggi has proven that,” Khandu said in his congratulatory message.

Adding further, the CM said “Smt. Linggi has made us all proud.  In her effort, she has also taken along the message of Prime Minister Narendra ModiJi's 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao. I wish her all success in her future endeavours'.
