PASIGHAT,Jul 24:  The Gorkha  Sanskriti  Suraksha Parishad (GSSP), of East Siang district today organized the 15th Bhanu Jayanti Utsav-2022  to   commemorate the 208th birth anniversary of the  great Nepali  poet and literary luminary at Engo Takar Dere.
Local MLA Kaling Moyong, who attended as the chief guest while paying tribute to the  pioneer poet, said that the contribution  of Bhanu Acharya in the field of  literary and cultural arena  and enrichment of Nepali language is immense.
Moyong also lauded the Gorkha community residing in Pasighat for their contribution in the development of East Siang and maintaining age old harmonious relationship. He also advised the students of the community to study hard and contribute towards the growth of the district and state as meritorious students will get opportunity in government and private sectors through dint of sheer hard-work.
During the celebration, Jaya Limbu, Gold medalist, M.Sc, Mizoram Central University and 15 other meritorious students and achievers were felicitated by GSSP, East Siang district unit. Cultural presentations  depicting the rich cultural heritage and traditions of the Gorkha community were also displayed on the occasion.
Earlier, Moyong with others also lighted the ceremonial lamp.
Chief Councillor, PMC, Okiam Moyong Borang also spoke to the gathering.
