ITANAGAR, Jul 29:
A daylong programme to aware GBs about their rights and responsibilities with special reference to the Assam Frontier Regulation 1945 was conducted by the District Administration, Anjaw at Hawai.
About fifty Gaon Buras and eight Political Interpreters, PRIs, HoDs and others attended the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner, Mamata Riba advised the GBs & PRIs to perform their duties in accordance with the provisions of Regulation 1945.
While advocate K. Dellang, HZPC, H Tawsik, EAC (HQ), B. Tawsik, Advocate, B. Kri, highlighted various provisions of Assam Frontier Regulation 1945 and the roles of PRIs & GBs at length.
Further expressing gratitude to the District Administration for conducting the much needed programme, the participants assured to exercise the powers vested in them under the act for development of the area.
Later, sensitization and training on earthquake and fire disaster was also imparted to PRIs and GBs, besides a coordination meeting with all HoDs, ITBP, GREF and PRI Members for upgradation of DDMP Anjaw and preparation of rescue and evacuation plan during disasters was also conducted at Hawai by DDMA Anjaw.
