ROING, July 23:  A District Level Review Committee meeting was conducted at Roing, Lower Dibang Valley, under the chairmanship of MP Arunachal East, Tapir Gao, to assess the progress of poverty alleviation programs and rural banking initiatives in the districts under Arunachal East Constituency.
The meeting saw the presence of esteemed dignitaries, including Gum Tayeng, MLA of the 42nd Dambuk Assembly constituency.The meeting was also attended by various prominent stakeholders, including the Regional Manager of SBI, Tinsukia, N. R. Sharma, Convener of SLBC- Singh, and Lead District Managers of 8 districts from SBI. Additionally, representatives from other banks such as ICICI, HDFC, APEX Bank, Arunachal Pradesh Rural Bank, PNB, and NABARD were actively engaged in the discussions.
The primary focus of the meeting was to review the implementation and impact of poverty alleviation programs like PM-SVANIDHI, PM JANDHAN YOJANA, PM MUDRA, and social security schemes such as PMJJBY and Atal Pension Yojana.
Gao while closely scrutinizing the Credit Deposit Ratio (CD ratio) of all banks, directed them to work on improving the ratio as per the mandates of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). To achieve this objective, he further recommended organizing credit outreach camps to extend financial support to more beneficiaries effectively.
Further, the banks were advised to prioritize transparency and enhance customer service for the rural population. Improving the hospitality and service experience for customers in rural areas emerged as a key area of focus during the discussions.
