ITANAGAR,  Apr 14: The Pan Arunachal Joint Steering Committee (PAJSC) today claimed that former Under Secretary APPSC, Tumi Gangkak was murdered and the incident was likely executed by "professionals" to show as "suicide" at the behest of vested interests in the system and probably has a link with the APPSCCE-2017.
Speaking to the media at the press club today, Vice Chairman PAJSC,  Tadak Nalo alleged that the murder of Gangkak has given a new dimension to the whole APPSC Paper Leak incident. "We have also seen the press statement by the police which is contradictory. As a layman, we can see that the incident is pre-planned murder but police is trying to give the incident the shape of suicide," he said.
In the CBI charge sheet, late Gangkak admitted that there was SOP violation, but that couldn’t be the major reason for suicide, and moreover why would a father take such an extreme step on his daughter’s birthday?, Nalo said.
He also questioned the injuries on the deceased' body adding  that there is a possibility that Gangkak was kidnapped by some external forces.
"If at all late Gangkak took his own life, then also there is every possibility that there are some external forces that have pressurized him and threatened him. Gangkak was given a clean  chit on the AE Paper leak case both by the SIC & CBI, but when he was called for interrogation on APPSCCE-2017 the incident occurred. So we believe that he might know many things about the said examination of 2017,as the alleged  SIC officer Bumcho Krong was also investigating the APPSCCE 2017 case where people like Minoty Borang were selected," Nalo said adding and the person heading the case of late Tumi Gangkak is also from same 2017 batch.
The PAJSC also asserted that the murder of late Gangkak was executed by professionals to show the incident as suicide. There must have been some vested interest and a powerful person from the system behind the incident that needs to be investigated properly, he said.
PAJSC will hold a mass rally seeking justice for the late Gangkak as well as on its 13-point demands as the first phase of protest on April 20 next at Aalo, informed  Chairman PAJSC,  Techi Puru while appealing all the citizens to support the movement.
 The Committee also claimed that despite assurance by the Chief Minister for not filing any case against its members, five cases have been registered in different police stations of the capital region. "We urge the state government to stand by its word and withdraw the case," Nalo said.
The PAJSC will soon initiate a donation drive for  whistleblower Gyamar Padang, it said.
