NAHARLAGUN, Apr 12: The dialysis unit under the “Pradhan Mantri National Dialysis Programme” which is envisaged for provision of free dialysis services to the poor is now made officially available in the state today at TRIHMS Hospital. In this direction, the dialysis unit at TRIHMS Naharlagun was formally inaugurated by Commissioner, Health and Family Welfare, Kaling Tayeng in presence of Special secretary cum Mission Director-NHM, Dr Tapasya Raghav and other top health officials.

During the launch, Dr L. Jampa, SNO (NCD) highlighted on the objectives of the PMNDP. He informed that the state has received 5 of the 15 assured dialysis equipment which have been donated by Fairfax India Charitable Foundation (FICF) in partnership with the Government of India.

The programme is designed to be implemented in PPP-mode in collaboration with service provider Ms. Eskag Sanjeevani Pvt. Ltd of Kolkata. The state has signed MoU with the company for a period of 5-years in which free dialysis services will be provided by the government to the patients needing dialysis for kidney ailments.
