ITANAGAR, May 15:The Green Arunachal Foundation (GAF) has alleged that a plot of land measuring 124 acres at Senki View is being misused by the state government and the Botanical Survey of India (BSI) citing irregularities in implementing of the project.

Informing that the said land was leased out by the government to the Botanical Survey of India for purpose of development and preservation of the rich flora and fauna in 1979, it claimed that the concern authority failed to implement the project properly.

Armed with RTI documents, Chairman, GAF, Takam Tatung also alleged that there is no clarity about the whole project such as usage of funds and there is no record of payments made in the matter of such an important project.

He even went on to allege that when he sought information of the whole project, the concern department denied giving any information of the monetary transaction citing that it has no records of the payments made till date.

Suspecting foul play, Tatung urged the state government, especially the Land Management department to clarify the latest position.

He further drew the attention of the government towards the encroachment of the said land by locals due to precarious management by the concern authority.
