ITANAGAR, Mar 26: In view of the scheduled consultative review meeting of regional committee of various districts on March 27, the Papumpare District Border People’s Forum (PPDBPF) has urged Chief Minister Pema Khandu to give clear instructions to the regional committee of Papumpare district to consult with the people of the affected areas before taking any crucial decision.
The forum in a press statement asserted that the resolution of January 9 last of both regional committees was not agreed by the public of Papumapre district, particularly on the points of the looped system, Cadastral and 500-meter width adjustment to Arunachal Pradesh. As per Namsai Declaration three villages Banderdewa, Tani-Happa,Tarajuli and Pichola under Banderdewa circle had already been declared under Arunachal Territorial parts so the proposal for re-survey or re-exercise should not be accepted by the Regional Committee of Arunachal Pradesh.
PPDBPF further claimed that if any decision goes against the interest of the villagers then it may create more problems.
Meanwhile, it has requested the Union Minister for Law and Justice, Kiren Rijiju, MP Lok Sabha Tapir Gao and MP Rajya Sabha Nabam Rebia to intervene in the matter and urge the central leadership to give a decision as per the wish of the locals.
