ITANAGAR, Jan 18: Former Pasighat East MLA Kaling Moyong has been appointed as the new State President (Arunachal Pradesh)of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The announcement was made on Saturday during the BJP’ Sangathan Parv at the state BJP office in the presence of Chief Minister Pema Khandu, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, Union Minister and Returning Officer for the election Sarbananda Sonowal, BJP State In-charge Ashok Singhal, ministers, MLAs, and party workers.
In his first statement as State BJP President, Moyong expressed gratitude to the party leadership for entrusting him with the prestigious role. "BJP is one of the largest parties in the world, and being given this responsibility is truly an honour for me," he said.
Moyong, a two-time MLA from Pasighat East, emphasized the importance of grassroots work and strengthening the party's ideology. "Our team will continue to work at the grassroots level, ensuring that the party workers and the government work together harmoniously to achieve our goals," he added.
Highlighting the party's developmental agenda, Moyong stated, "Though the BJP-led state government has been focusing on grassroots development, our responsibility is to ensure that all government schemes, both from the central and state levels, reach the last person in the line."
Reflecting on the party's success in the recent assembly elections, Moyong noted the significant majority secured by the BJP. He urged party workers to prepare for the upcoming municipal and panchayat elections, stating, "We need to start working from today to ensure similar success in these elections."
Moyong extended his gratitude to the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, party leaders, and workers for their support and confidence in his leadership.
