ITANAGAR, Nov 1: Reiterating its demand, All Arunachal Pradesh Forest Workers Union (AAPFWU) served an ultimatum to the Principal Secretary Chief Conservator of Forest for immediate redressal of their long-pending demands.
Speaking to reporters, President AAPFWU Lindum Bagap informed that the union has repeatedly submitted a representation to the authority and conducted a sit-in protest but no positive response has come forth.
He also informed that, second phase of the democratic movement in the form of mass rally cum dharna will be organized by the union to fight for the right of forest workers on November 9 next. Rally will be held from IG Park to PCCF office, added Bagap.
APFWU is demanding, regularization of contingency labourers, release of salary within the first week of every month, renovation of labour barrack and payment of wages through Direct Benefit Transfer.
