Naharlagun, Aug 10: A programme for handing over food baskets to adopted Tuberculosis patients by Nikshay Mitra (Donor) was organised at TU Naharlagun by District Health Society (NTEP) Papumpare District on Thursday. 
The Chairperson Oju Welfare Association (OWA), Anya Ratan handed over the food baskets to six Tuberculosis patients, adopted by her under Nikshay Mitra 2.0 of Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan in a simple function at TRIHMS, Naharlagun. She advised the patients to take medicines regularly and complete the course and also urged them not to stop the medicine until the doctor advises. 
Further food baskets were handed over to 10 TB patients who were adopted by MLA Tana Hali Tara for six months, which was completed today. 
Dr. P. D. Thongchi, DTO Papumpare briefed the patients about Nikshay Mitra (Donor) and need of nutritious diet for TB patients and also spoke about the prevention of Tuberculosis in brief. He also requested patients who have completed the treatment (TB Champions) to support the health workers and the programme for TB elimination by 2025 as set by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
