AALO, Mar 18:

 

Minister AH& Veterinary Science, Art Culture and Research, Dr. Mahesh Chai, said that government is giving thrust to agro and allied sectors targeting skill development, employment generation and other vistas of youth centric activities to contain growing unemployment problems and welfare of the people.

 

He was speaking at the inauguration of a sub-health centre at Gemo Tali village on Friday as chief guest.

 

The inauguration of health sub-centre is a milestone to keep pace with the health needs of the rural people and notification alone will not solve the purpose unless sufficient infrastructure and manpower are there to make it functional, he said.

 

Expressing concern that various tribal dialects, language and culture are on the verge of extinction, he said that the government is mulling  documentation of such rich dialect, languages and cultural practices from erosion.

 

‘Galos are considered as an advance tribe and effort made by Language Development Committee for deciphering Galo language and its introduction in school as third language is noble venture and it will go a long way to encourage other tribes to work on such lines,’ the Minister said.

 

Responding to one point public memorandum pertaining to construction of a Cultural Centre at Gemo Tali, he assured to look into the matter on priority basis.

 
MLA Nyammar Karbak who is also Parliamentary Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs, said that as a representative of the people, his prime concern is on community based development projects like inter road connectivity, electricity, drinking water supply, schools, medicals that largely benefit people of the areas than individual schemes.

 

He assured to sanction Rs.12 lakhs for community dere and rs. 15 lakhs for infrastructure development of the sub-health centre at Gemo Tali and appealed the villagers to avoid internal tussle for any contractual works.

 

Dr. Marbom Basar, DMO Aalo who was also present on the occasion disclosed that 3 health staff have already been posted to the centre and ANM and GNM will soon be posted to make it functional to cater health needs of the people. 
 

The Minister was accompanied by Chow Zingnu Namchoom, Parliamentary Secretary Planning, Personnel, Administrative Reforms and Training, Dikto Yekar MLA Daporijo, Gamli Padu, Deputy Commissioner West Siang, Swetika Sachan, ADC Kamba among others.
