ITANAGAR, Jul 12: The First Lady of the State Neelam Misra visited Donyi Polo Mission School for Hearing and Visually Impaired at Chimpu, today and interacted with the teachers and students on the occasion.
Mrs Misra advised the students to work hard and imbibe progressive will and resolve. She said that differently abled students with self-determination do very well in life and lead happy independent lives.
People with disabilities have certain special abilities in different fields. They should develop immunity from the complex, which will help them immensely, she said.
Mrs Misra praised the school authority for introducing loin loom weaving amongst the curriculum activities adding that it will definitely help the students with disabilities in standing on their own feet.
Earlier, she visited the State Emporium of the Department of Textiles and Handicrafts and toured various sections of the state government outlet which are dealing with a large number of indigenous handlooms and handicrafts products. She commended the quality of products displayed in the emporium and suggested for more outlets in other parts of the country. The department of Textiles and Handicrafts has set up a live demonstration of loin loom weaving in the emporium, a brainchild of the First Lady herself.
