Khonsa, Feb 5: Fire services in coordination with the Khonsa Battalion of the Assam Rifles, displayed exceptional promptness and operational readiness in responding to a jungle fire that broke out near the SP Bungalow area in Khonsa on Wednesday afternoon.
Acting as first responders, the Fire Brigade personnel and troops of the Khonsa Battalion immediately mobilised rescue and fire-containment measures upon receiving the information. Demonstrating courage, discipline, and effective coordination with the local administration and emergency services, the teams worked tirelessly to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby habitations and vulnerable areas.
Owing to the swift, decisive, and professional response, the fire was successfully brought under control within a short span of time. No casualties or loss of life were reported, and no residential homes were affected.
