DOIMUKH, Jul 4: Home Minister Bamang Felix while addressing a gathering in an inauguration ceremony of the new police station building today here at Doimukh has urged the police officers to clear the misconception amongst local people that police station is not for punishment or correction but for reformation and rehabilitation.
“If we want to have a peaceful environment and avoid law and order deterioration, we should build trust among the local denizens and gain their faith,” the  Minister said besides urging the public to cooperate with police in curbing anti-social activities. “Only police cannot curb out law and order problems unless there is full support from public,” asserted Felix. While speaking on the inter-state boundary issues, Felix said that since  the case  is sub judice  and pending in Supreme Court  nothing  can  be  spoken on it  but  people  living on both  sides of Assam and Arunachal need to maintain the relationship of aged-old brotherhood. Further, responding to the memorandum submitted by the local MLA Tana Hali, Home Minister said he will soon discuss the issues with the concerned police officers and extend all support on priority basis.
Earlier, the local MLA submitted an eight-point memorandum demanding establishment of IRBN Headquarter with Training Center at Tallumso under Tarso circle, creation of police station at Yupia & , police out-posts at Sangdupota circle, Bagoli-Denka (Gumto Circle), sufficient  deployment of staff at Gumto  police station & at police out-post Kakoi, additional  sanction of fund  for infrastructure  development of Doimukh PS and others.
Speaking on the occasion, Superintendent of Police, Capital Complex and In-chrage Papum Pare  Tumme Amo briefed the  Minister about the requirements of the district and urged him to allocate separate Fire and Emergency Service Stations for both Sagalee and Doimukh.
