ITANAGAR, Nov 6:  Home Minister Bamang Felix expressed his gratitude for IPS LB Sewa, who is regarded as the ‘Architect of APP’, and also to all those who have contributed to Arunachal Pradesh Police' (APP) growth over the years.
The Arunachal Pradesh Police (APP) Sports Meet 2022, which saw an array of sporting events among police fraternity, concluded today at the 1st AAPBn Sports Complex, Chimpu. The month-long event was organised as a run-up event to commemorate the APP’s 50th Raising Day.
Home Minister Bamang Felix, who attended the closing ceremony, extended his greetings to the Police fraternity on achieving 50th Raising Day which will be marked on November 8 next.
Recalling the history of APP, the Home Minister expressed his gratitude for IPS LB Sewa, who is regarded as the ‘Architect of APP’, and also to all those who have contributed to APP’s growth over the years.
“Today, APP has advanced into a force which is progressive, decisive and at par with any other police force in the country in every level of functioning,” he said.
Expressing confidence that Arunachal Pradesh Police will continue to shine as a trusted agent in the state’s development, and will achieve much more in its endeavor to protect, prevent and preserve, the Minister extended his gratitude to all the police personnel for making Arunachal an ‘Island of Peace’.
Commenting on the APP Sports Meet, the Home Minister said that it should be turned into an Annual Event and assured to pursue it with appropriate authorities.
‘Such annual event will enhance the bonding, coordination and discipline among our personnel,’ he said.
Emphasising on the importance of sports, especially for the Police, Minister Felix said that all those sportspersons recruited into Police under sports quota should be identified and utilized to further and promote sports activities.
Itanagar Municipal Corporation (IMC) Mayor Tame Phassang in his deliberations lauded the police for their invaluable services and assured cooperation and services to the police whenever required.
DGP Satish Golcha on his part emphasised on the importance of sports and said that it builds team work, cooperation and trust which is highly essential for police.
He also extended his gratitude to the Home Minister for the support and cooperation to the police wherever required.
Meanwhile, the final day of the APP Sports Meet 2022 was marked by the final match between 1st AAPBn and 2nd IRBn football team and the 100-meter race.
2nd IRBn emerged victorious with 2-0 score in the final football match while in the 100-meter race Constable Balum Bella (12.16 seconds) was adjudged the winner.
