Pasighat, Jun 17: A mega distribution programme was organized by ICAR-IIVR, Varanasi and College of Horticulture and Forestry  at CHF, Pasighat, Arunachal Pradesh on Saturday in presence of Director, ICAR-IIVR, Varanasi and Scientist from ICAR-IIHR, Bengaluru. 
A total of  115 farmers from FPOs, Farmers club from different districts including aspirational districts of Arunachal Pradesh (Shi Yomi, Hunli, Lower Dibang Valley, Desali, Ruksin, Ledum etc.) attended the programme. 
Dr. B.N.Hazarika, Dean, CHF, Pasighat welcomed everyone to the awareness cum distribution programme and apprised the participants about the significance of vegetable crops in human nutrition and income security. He also thanked the Director for providing assistance in uplifting the vegetable farmers of the State. 
Dr. T.K. Behera highlighted the potential of Northeast region in vegetable crops production and the key role of ICAR-IIVR, Varanasi in bringing revolution towards production and productivity of vegetable crops in the country. Dr. P.C.Tripathi, Principal Scientist from ICAR-IIHR, Bengaluru also addressed the gathering and highlighted the activities of IIHR, Bengaluru and gave assurance for helping the farmers of the region. Faculty members and KVK staff were also present in the programme.  
Farm inputs like seeds of vegetable crops, tools etc., were distributed to the farmers during the programme.
