ITANAGAR, Aug 9: Three masked persons reportedly tried to rob the State Bank of India, Doimukh branch in the wee hours of Wednesday morning. The incident came to light when bank staffers noticed the damaged vault which proved that someone had tried to forcefully open it.
When contacted B. Tangjang, Sub-inspector of Doimukh Police Station confirmed about the failed robbery attempt and informed that three persons had entered the SBI office climbing through the rooftop at 2 am on Wednesday morning in an attempt to rob the bank.
“They tried to open the vault with a hammer but were unable do so and left the bank,” added the SI.
In this regard a case has been registered under IPC sections 457, 380 and 511 at the Doimukh PS and currently police is investigating the CCTV footage.
