ITANAGAR, Mar 16: The Former Legislator’s Welfare Association (FLWA) appealed to the state government for consideration of medical allowance to the former Ex – MLAs and ministers.
The majority of the ex-MLAs and ministers of the state are facing untold problems in terms of medical expenses for extensive treatment and died of financial hardship, said incumbent president FLWA Tanyong Tatak, during a general body meeting which was graced by deputy speaker Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly (APLA)Tesam Pongte as chief guest and MLA Techi Kaso as guest of honour here at Itanagar.
Stating ex-MLAs and ministers have given major significant contributions towards the prosperity and development of the state, while was alive, FLWA appealed to the state government to provide State honour for the ex-MLAs & ministers upon their demise.
The association also appealed to the government for allocation of one room for ex-MLAs and ministers.
Deputy Speaker Tesam Pongte in his address to the members of FLWA assured to take forward the matter with the state government for further consideration. It is the former ex-MLAs and council of ministers because of whose dedication and efforts has shaped the state through developmental activities, he added.
Taking forward the development activities which were initiated by the former MLAs and ministers, Chief Minister Pema Khandu government is also committed to bring overall development in the state, said MLA Kaso.
Informing, BJP government is maintaining zero tolerance against the corruption practices, he also urged FLWA to assist the government to eradicate the corruption from the state and to support the policy programmes of the government.
Former president FLWA Atum Welly, who spoke on the occasion suggested the present members not to use the platform of association to gain political mileage.  
The programme was attended by former chief minister P K Thungon, deputy chief minister ministers Kameng Dolo, home minister Tanga Byaling and others.
