Itanagar, Jun 22 : Capital Complex Dree Festival Celebration Committee-2019 (CCDFC) as a part of the Dree festival celebration today organized its first ever Dree Marathon Run with the theme ‘Run for Communal Harmony’. 
The marathon which was participated by more than 50 enthusiastic runners from all walks of life including participants from Assam started from capital’s Old Dree ground and culminated at the Main Dree ground at Papu Nallah. General Secretary, Galo Welfare Society Er. Marcony Potom  flagged off the run as chief guest. Highlighting the participation of people from various tribes, Potom termed it as an ‘eye opener’ and congratulated the committee for championing the motto of ‘communal harmony’. He also lauded the participants from Assam and distributed prizes to the winners.
Habung Nyipa took the first position in the open category followed by Bamo Tanang and Koj Opo in second and third positions respectively. In women section Mananya Pansa emerged as winner, while Ngamnyo Wangsa and Taro Sumpa came second and third. Ten consolation prizes and two special prizes were also given to the youngest and the oldest participant of the marathon which went to the father-son duo of Dr. Kago Gambo (50 yrs) and Kago Mobin (10 yrs). Executive members of CCDFC also actively took part in the run.
