Likabali, Nov 24: In continuation of the ongoing preparations for the Panchayat Election 2025, Kangki Darang, Election Observer for Lower Siang District, conducted a comprehensive inspection today across key administrative and polling locations. He was accompanied by Rujjum Rakshap, Deputy Commissioner–cum–District Election Officer, Dr. Senpe Taipodia, Liaisoning Officer to the Election Observer, and Henge Riba, District Planning Officer, Lower Siang.
The team visited Nari Headquarters, where they held an interactive session with the Returning Officers (ROs) and Assistant Returning Officers (AROs) of the Zila Parishad Constituencies under the Ramle Banggo area. The discussions focused on ensuring strict adherence to election guidelines, logistical readiness, and seamless coordination among the election machinery.
Later, the Election Observer and accompanying officials inspected key polling stations, including Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Nari; Government Upper Primary School, Lumpo.
During the field visit, the team interacted with Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and also engaged with students present in the classroom, creating awareness on the importance of free and fair elections in a democratic society.
Darang emphasized that transparency, neutrality, and smooth conduct of the Panchayat Election 2025 are top priorities for the district administration. He instructed officials to ensure that all polling stations are fully prepared with requisite materials, proper signage, accessibility for all voters, and strict compliance with the Model Code of Conduct.
Deputy Commissioner Rujjum Rakshap reiterated the district administration’s commitment to delivering a peaceful and efficient electoral process. He called upon all officials to fulfill their responsibilities with sincerity, dedication, and impartiality.
The visit concluded with the Election Observer expressing satisfaction over the preparations so far, while also urging the election teams to remain vigilant and responsive to any issues that may arise in the run-up to the polling day. (DIPRO)
