ITANAGAR, Oct 3: To mark the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the Department of Higher Education conducted various activities in schools and DIET colleges across the state where Gandhian idea of Basic Education was promoted and imparted. The programme was organised as a part of week-long 'Mahatma Gandhi Nai Talim Abhiyan', launched by Human Resource Development, the Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural Education (MGNCRE). The primary aim of the workshop was to promote Gandhi's ideas on experiential learning through community engagement. Meanwhile, a four-day workshop on Gandhiji's Nai Talim was also organised in SCERT, Itanagar wherein Lecturers of all the DIETs and teachers from various schools of the State participated.
