PASIGHAT, Sep 5: East Siang Deputy Commissioner Tayi Taggu today launched the month long 5th National Nutrition Month ( Rashtriya Poshan Maah) in East Siang by administering the Poshan Pledge to spread the message of proper nutrition for healthy growth at grassroot level. Anganwadi Workers, AWHs and staff of DD ICDS Pasighat and also Arunachal State Rural Livelihood Mission (ArSLM) staff alongwith HoDs of line departments joined the pledge.
The DC stressed on convergence activities with line departments like Education, Health & PHE with the WCD for success of the 5th Rashtriya Poshan Maah in the district.
DD ICDS cum Nodal Officer Poshan Abhiyan, Machi Gao briefly highlighted the main objectives and various activities of Poshan Abhiyan on themes of “Mahila aur Swasthya( Women & Health)” and “Bacha aur Shiksha ( Children & Education)” with focus on creating awareness on nutrition with special focus on children, adolescent girls, pregnant women & lactating mothers. She also sought cooperation from all line departments for success of 5th Rashtriya Poshan Maah.
