PASIGHAT Dec 1:  East Siang Deputy Commissioner Tayi Taggu has asked the Fair Price Shop (FPS) owners to be consumer friendly and ensure that no eligible BPL households and ration card holders for  Antyodaya Anna Yojana Scheme ( AAY)  and also PMGKAY (Pradhan Mantri Gareeb Kalyan Yojana), and also  Priority Household  (PHH) beneficiaries  are left out for availing their monthly quota of rice and foodgrains.
The DC gave this instruction to FPS dealers during  inspection  of Fair Price Shops  here  at Gumin Nagar and Forest Colony  on  Wednesday as part of the ongoing process to take  stock of the functioning of FPS in  the district. The DC checked and verified the stock and supply register maintained by the FPS dealers and  also listened to the issues faced by the FPS owners.
The DC was accompanied by officials of the Department of Food & Civil Supplies.
The DC also enquired on the distribution of rice and asked to maintain proper distribution for PHH & AAY and PMGKAY card holders in particular and consumers  in general. He also asked to follow  guidelines issued by the government from time to time for functioning of FPS.
The DC expressed overall satisfaction with the performance of the FPSs.
