PASIGHAT, Jun 12: East Siang DC Sonalika Jiwani has taken a comprehensive review of the monsoon and other disaster management preparedness and mitigation, contingency plans by various departments today. Jiwani has asked for strengthening the urban flood management cell and instructed for submission of details by concerned departments on the status of city drainage system and cleaning /desilting efforts in Pasighat and sub –divisional levels.
The review meeting also saw the DC cum Chairperson , DDMA East Siang ,  taking stock of contingency plans  in terms of essential and lifesaving medicines, essential commodities  and POL items and its replenishment for minimum three months, timely pruning of trees,  identification of vulnerable buildings and locations, rescue and rehabilitation, updates and safety advisories to the general public through various media,   provision of  temporary shelters in Pasighat and Mebo and Ruksin Sub-Divisions, on timely update of  manpower and resource inventories by respective departments besides various issues.
DDMO T Tasi in his briefing said that daily situation report is being submitted, and informed that AAPDA Mitra Volunteers are currently engaged in IEC activities like town announcements and dos and don’ts on heatwave  in Pasighat city and the district in general. 
Earlier, the DC while taking a coordination cum interactive meeting with Administative Officers, HoDS among others, urged for proactive efforts  in ensuring that government welfare and development  initiatives reach the target beneficiaries with a beneficiary oriented approach.
Jiwani also stressed on creating an enabling environment for Industries and entrepreneurial growth in the district.  Efficient urban management and sustainable planned growth of the Smart City Pasighat are also our priorities  to make our district a key performing district in all indicators, the East Siang DC said.
