PASIGHAT, Jun 29:  The East Siang district administration held an emergency meeting today as several beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana --Gramin (PMAY-G), failed to complete construction of their houses despite release of funds.
East Siang DC cum CEO, DRDA, Tayi Taggu, called an emergency meeting and had discussion on “PMAY (G) Scheme and its incapability in performing the assigned task” with the Gram Panchayat Chairpersons of Bosing I & II and Bogong I & II and their 60 other members of PMAY (G) scheme beneficiaries who couldn’t complete their houses at the provided time period even after the disbursement of the first instalment. 
Taggu expressed his disappointment at the 60 beneficiaries out of 160 units targeted who have not yet started even after the disbursement of sanctioned fund which had been credited into their respective accounts. He informed that the PMAY (G) scheme must meet up at a given time as per the order in the scheme. 
Therefore, it is the responsibility of every beneficiary under this scheme to complete their 1st phase of house development in time thus to take the altogether benefits of this scheme, the DC said. He has strictly directed them to complete 1st phase of house development on or before December else they will be treated as defaulters under this scheme.
The meeting was attended by the Project Director, DRDA, T. Padung, BDO Omem Dai and concern GPCs and beneficiaries.
