PASIGHAT, Apr 7: The Arunachal Pradesh Literary Society(APLS), East Siang district unit, today organized their first general body meet. The meet aims to provide a platform for the writers and poets to connect, contribute and share their creative works to enrich the literary landscape of the state and the nation. Poetry Meet was done by members along with discussions on the future programs and meet of the APLS.
Writers Ponung Ering Angu ( “ Doying –Collection of Folk Tales of the Adis) ,Litterateur Kaling Borang, Group Capt. (Retd) Mohonto Pangging (“ Keerook& Other Stories from North East India) Dr. Kaling Dai (Retd. JDHS), Folk Artiste, Delong Padung, Manjulata Prasad, Dr. Ing Perme were among those who were part of the meet.
President APLS ( East Siang Unit), Ponung Ering Angu, while highlighting the objectives of the meet for providing a platform for writers and poets of the district, said that writers Padmashree Mamang Dai and Luminary Late Lummer Dai hailing from the district have contributed immensely to the literary arena a of the state and nation.
APLS Vice President District Unit, Group Captain (Retd), Mohonto Panging Pao encouraged the young budding writers. Folk Artiste, Delong Padung stressed on documentation of rich Folk Literature. Tagom Tamuk, President of the Adi Agom Kebang also spoke in detail on the Adi lipik( Alphabets)
Member B. Jerang presented his satire works in Adi among others in the session. Writer Tashiram Pertin also presented a copy of his book Litum Kebang and spoke at length on his book.
