SEPPA, Mar 2: As a supportive measure to aid the ongoing 2nd phase of Covid-19 vaccination in East Kameng, the District Administration in association with NGO Project
StepOne has launched a new initiative to help the district’s people get vaccinated by providing free COVID-19 related telemedicine counselling support.
Under this initiative, all those above 60 and within the 45-59 age group with co-morbidities eligible for the 2nd phase can get their doubts and queries about the vaccination answered by doctors and volunteers of Project StepOne by calling their Covid Helpline 03787-222999. The facility is also open for the residents of other districts. The DA will also monitor the health of those getting vaccinated for side effects, if any. Those taking the doses will receive automated calls daily from the NGO for 5 days after getting vaccinated.
In case of manifestation of any symptom, a doctor will call them to provide consultation and advice. People can also call the helpline directly in case they wish to consult a doctor regarding any side effect they might be experiencing. The healthcare and frontline workers who are nominated by their respective departments to receive the vaccination free of cost will also receive a call to clarify any doubt they might have regarding the vaccination. Deputy Commissioner P Pravimal Abhishek informed that the goal of the initiative is to bring the pandemic under control at the earliest through vaccination and demystifying the doubts  surrounding the vaccine.

Project StepOne is a non-profit NGO involved in providing COVID-19 related telemedicine support to the people across the country since the pandemic’s beginning. Its spokesperson said that after helping 2.5 million citizens in 18 states the NGO is now looking forward to make the vaccination programme successful through timely interventions.
