Seppa, Mar 16: East Kameng district has become the first district in Arunachal Pradesh to have a gym and a library for Police personnel and their families. The library named 'Prabodhan' was opened at headquarters Seppa on Wednesday. 
Aim is to makeover the image of East Kameng from a difficult and resource crunched district to a sought-after district. With addition of new infrastructure, this image of district should take a hit. Next project in line in this direction is conversion of dilapidated Police barracks to model police barracks. We wish to make staff welfare a priority and improve the sense of belonging in the Police force, a statement from the SP said.
The project was sanctioned by the government in February last year and work began shortly.
