PASIGHAT, May 19: Amidst repeated objection from Boggong Banggo Kebang (BBK) regarding renaming of General Hospital Pasighat to Bakin Pertin General Hospital Pasighat by the state government vide No. HFW-46/2016 notified on 19th December 2016, the BBK’s ex-President, Tagom Jamoh has appealed the state government to re-schedule the unveiling of statue of Late Bakin Pertin.
In a letter to Dy. Commissioner, Pasighat here today, Tagom Jamoh has said that, objection petition submitted by BBK in recent times were driven by some vested interest few with malafide intention to divide Adi community. BBK’s ex-President, Jamoh has also taken reference of other institutions and establishments here in the town which was renamed after prominent personalities which were not consulted with the BBK prior to renaming to which BBK had never opposed. Jamoh further made a mention that, since late Bakin Pertin was one of the prominent senior citizens of Bogong area, the renaming of the General Hospital Pasighat was not opposed by the BBK. Rather only 4-5 members who had vested interest instigated the President and General Secretary of BBK to submit a complaint to the Dy. Commissioner. Jamoh also said that, MP Ninong Ering, MLA Kaling Moyong, Chief Councilor Kaling Doruk and others are not actually opposing the renaming, rather they are welcoming it.
Meanwhile responding to the statement of Tagom Jamoh, BBK Gen. Secy. Mongol Gao has said that, BBK had conducted a mass referendum meeting of 22 villages on 6th of May last wherein 90% people opposed the renaming. Gao further stated that, they have again submitted a fresh objection of the same on Thursday to DC Pasighat seeking no renaming of General Hospital, Pasighat. “If Tagom Jamoh and others like MP and MLA are supporting the renaming, that’s their personal opinion, but ours is a mass consensus drawn decision”, added Mongol Gao.
