Itanagar, Feb 3: The Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI) Jote inaugurated its first batch of the Six Days Residential Entrepreneurship Skill Development Programme today. Nyato Dukam, Minister of Commerce & Industries, along with  Hage Tari, Secretary of Industries cum Chairman of EDI Jote graced the occasion. The ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including; SmtiYater Soki, Project Officer, EDI Jote; Shri Dani Abing, Joint Director of Industries, as well as various officers from the Department of Industries.
During his address, Minister Nyato Dukam emphasized the numerous skill development initiatives launched by the Government of Arunachal Pradesh aimed at empowering the youth of the state. He encouraged the participants to complete the training, highlighting its importance in their entrepreneurial journeys.
Hage Tari, Secretary of Industries cum Chairman of EDI, reiterated the government's commitment to fostering entrepreneurship. He shared the significance of EDI Jote, which was established with funding from the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India, in 2010. The institute is dedicated to conducting skill development training programs, seminars, and workshops that enhance entrepreneurship and contribute to the growth of various sectors in the state, thereby reducing regional disparities with other northeastern states and more developed regions of the country.
Jumli Ete, Director of EDI,  informed that this comprehensive training programme, equips 30 participants from 11 districts across Arunachal Pradesh with essential skills in digital marketing, financial systems, preparation of Detailed Project Reports (DPR), film production, e-commerce, online retailing for Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs), and government schemes for entrepreneurs.
In his vote of thanks, the Director of EDI Jote expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Chief Guest for elevating the event's significance and advocating for initiatives that empower local communities. He recognized the unwavering support of the Secretary of Industries, crediting him for the vital role he played in reviving the institute after years of neglect.
