YUPIA, Aug 3: The Papum Pare District Task force on Immunization (DTFI) pressed the need for better counseling of the vaccine refusal cases during the meeting convened in the DC conference hall, Yupia on Wednesday.
Chairing the meeting, Deputy Commissioner cum Chairman, District Health Society, Cheechung Chukhu said  “the counseling for the refusal cases for vaccination should be done by both the health and other stakeholder departments.”
He also added that "the immunization programs for the children and vaccinating them is a priority of the Health department; but at the same time concerted and coordinated efforts of the other stakeholders like Education and Women and Child Development Departments, Karuna Trust and PRI members is equally important for the success of the programs.”
DMO Dr.Komling Perme highlighted the key objectives of the meeting and the importance of the implementation of IMI 5.0.
Intensified Mission Indradhanush 5.0 (IMI 5.0) campaign will be conducted across the country during the month of August, September and October this year. During these three rounds, children of 0-5 years age group and pregnant women, who have missed any dose of vaccine as per National Immunization Schedule ( NIS), will be vaccinated.  Government of India is committed to achieve target of Measles Rubella Elimination (MR Elimination) by December 2023 and Intensified Mission Indradhanush 5.0 program is a major step to achieve this goal, Dr. Perme informed.
He also directed the MO In-charges, District Programme Manager and other medical functionaries to complete the user mapping for vaccinators/ASHAs and others on the U-WIN  (the program to digitize India's Universal Immunization Program (UIP) and submit the micro plans for the vaccination program by 5th August before the IMI 5.0 is launched.
Deputy Director ICDS Aroty Tayeng, DRCHO Dr. Neyang Nitik, doctors and medical officials attended the meeting.
