Kamki, Feb 10: Donyi-Polo Government College (DPGC), Kamki, West Siang District is undergoing its third-cycle assessment by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). As a part of the process, NAAC Peer Team arrived at the college today for a two-day visit, which will conclude on Tuesday. The college previously underwent NAAC accreditation twice, first in 2006 and the second in 2014.
The three-member NAAC Peer Team is led by Dr. Seetharama Rao Kusuma, Vice-Chancellor of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University, Hyderabad, as Chairperson. The team also includes Dr. Ramesh Chandra Joshi, Professor and Head, the Department of Geography, DSB Campus, Kumaon University, Nainital, as Member Coordinator, and Dr. Sasim Kabiraj Thakur, Principal of Govt. Union Christian Training College, Berhampore, West Bengal as Member. During the assessment, the team is evaluating the college’s infrastructure, academic programs, research activities, and various other parameters.
On the first day, the Peer Team attended presentations by Dr. Gindu Borang, Principal; Shri Nyaglen Gadi, IQAC Coordinator; and the heads of all eight departments. Additionally, they inspected key facilities, including the Geography Laboratory, library, NCC and NSS units, and various cells and committees of the college.
On Tuesday, the team will visit all eight departments, inspect the boys' and girls' hostels, and interact with faculty members and non-teaching staff. The visit will conclude with an exit meeting, where the team will provide initial feedback on their observations.
