Doimukh, July 5: Single Use Plastics has been banned in the entire Doimukh Administrative jurisdiction in the wake of the Centre's directive to ban the use of SUPs and use of prescribed minimum thickness of carry bag with effect from July 1 last.
SDO Sabodam Tayang issued a Prohibitory Order imposing ban on use of single use plastics in entire Doimukh Administrative jurisdiction and further stated that necessary directions have been given to EAC Doimukh, CO Gumto, OC Police Station and District Urban Development Agency (DUDA) Doimukh to remain vigilant and ensure the implementation of the order.
Further, it also stated that undermining the order will invite action under appropriate section of law and penalty of Rs 5000 will be imposed upon shopkeepers not complying with the ban on single use plastic (SUP).
