Roing, Jul 7: The District Mineral Foundation Trust (DMFT) of Lower Dibang Valley conducted its governing council Meeting today in the presence of MLAs  Gum Tayeng and Mutchu Mithi, DC Soumya Saurabh, ADC Srinivas Sadi, members and administrative officers. 
A brief report was presented on the DMFT,  its aims and objectives, its scope of activities, projects undertaken by the DMFT in LDV and a plan of its activities for 2023-24. 
MLA Mithi appreciated and commended the projects taken up by the DMFT as it catered to the immediate requirements in the district and suggested a few projects that could be taken up to aid and improve the education and WCD sectors in the district.
MLA Tayeng requested the Geology and Mining department to consider increasing the royalty exemption to 100 Cubic Meter from the present 30 cubic meter, for villagers building their houses.
DC Soumya Saurabh informed about the various activities undertaken by the DTFI 
and stated that the priority is to meet the basic requirements in the education and health care sectors. She also said that work should be considered in a convergence mode with other departments.
The DC highlighted the projects like the Mother Child Care Kit given on institutional delivery, repair works in government schools in Jamupani and Paglam, provision of library books, construction of bachelor barracks for teachers, electrification of Anganwadi centres, capacity building programme for girls, clearing of dumping ground, strengthening of computer lab, procurement of medicines for distribution in SAD camps, procurement of anemia screening kits etc.
New proposal for bridging the infrastructure gap in schools, provision of Mid Day Meal for students of class IX- XII to keep the children in schools for 12 government schools in the district etc were presented before the governing council for its approval. 
AMDO Jotin Linggi informed about the DMFT, its functions, fund position and its utilisation.
