PASIGHAT, Jul 31: The East Siang administration today held a meeting to launch 'Meri Mati Mera Desh' campaign scheduled from August 9 to 15 next.
The coordination meeting was convened by Deputy Commissioner Tayi Taggu which was attended by the Superintendent of Police Sumit Kr. Jha, PD (DRDA) Tajing Padung, DACO, DDSE, ZPC Olen Rome, PMC Chief Councilor Okiam Moyong Borang, BDOs, councilors and ZPMs of East Siang district.
As part of the campaign several programmes and activities will be organized across the country in memory of martyred bravehearts of the nation in the run-up to the Independence Day to commemorate the concluding programme of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. Under this campaign, an ‘Amrit Kalash Yatra’ will also be organized across the country carrying soil from every village Panchayat of the country which will reach the national capital, Delhi. This yatra will carry kalash, soil and plants from the Gram Panchayat of the country to build ‘Amrit Vatika’ close to the National War Memorial.
Khonsa: The Tirap district administration also held a meeting for the launch of 'Meri Mati, Mera Desh' campaign at the District Secretariat conference under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Hento Karga today.
After threadbare discussions and participation of Panchayat leaders & HoDs programme was finalised for celebrating the campaign in the district.
