BOMDILA, Jul 14: The maiden meeting of the District Water & Sanitation Mission (DWSM) of West Kameng, which is a part of the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) was held on Tuesday here at the district headquarters by the Department of PHED & WS, wherein a total of 74 schemes under Bomdila division and 45 schemes under Dirang division were approved by voice vote.
Chairing the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Karma Leki who is also the Chairman of DWSM elaborated the intention of JJM, the Central flagship programme which aims to provide potable drinking water to every household in rural areas by 2024. EE PHED Bomdila division Er. N Konia while making a PowerPoint Presentation on the Annual Action Plan 2020-21 said that although the Village Action Plan passed by Gram Sabha was mandatory, due to the prevailing Covid pandemic, the Annual Action Plan for 2020-21 had to be placed directly to the district level board after being directed by the concerned authorities.
Later, a meeting on convergence of schemes for the Work Departments under BADP was held which was attended by the representatives of PHED, RWD, PWD, WRD, Power (Elect.), DRDA etc. DC once more urged the stakeholders to make sure that duplicity of schemes is discouraged. DIPRO
