KHONSA, Apr 2: The final district level selection tournament for 6th edition of District level Hangpan Dada Memorial trophy under 16 for both boys and girls, in football and volleyball, concluded at Nehru Stadium, Khonsa on Sunday.
While gracing the final matches, CO 6 Assam Rifles, Col Aman Ahluwalia, said that the youth of Tirap have potential in the field of sports and games while laying stress on hard work and discipline. He encouraged the young players to participate in indoor games and yoga in a professional way which will help to keep them physically and mentally fit.
The CO Assam Rifles vehemently appealed the players and youth of Tirap to shun drugs and 'Kaani' addiction and other anti national activities and become a good citizens.
Earlier, in his welcome address, district sports officer (DSO) Noah Mongku informed that like every year, this time too the tournament was conducted successfully at block and constituency levels.
In the final football match in boy’s category, 56-Khonsa West FC team defeated 57-Borduria-Bogapani. Lihang Sumnyan declared Best player from 56 Khonsa West A/C.
In the final football match in girl’s category, 56-Khonsa West FC team defeated 57-Borduria-Bogapani. Charia Hakhun was declared Best player from 56 Khonsa West A/C.
Volleyball Boys was lifted by 55-A/C with Ngamwang Hangphuk winning title of Best Player.
Volleyball Girls was lifted by Khonsa West with Poto Sapong winning Best Player.
